Band Plan… HF to UHF

A useful A4 or A5 “at a glance” Band Plan for the HF to UHF bands. I prepared this for myself some time ago for use when /p or /m and found it really handy (as I have a brain like a sieve) for making sure I was in the correct portion of the band for whatever I was getting up to.

Please feel free to down load it and print it off for yourself…

    1. hehehe Me? Buy another radio? Would I really do that?? Ehm, yes – but I did exchange another one for this one πŸ™‚ I’m a good boy I am… I think! πŸ˜‰

    1. I like toys…. πŸ˜‰ when will you be gracing us with your prescence on the air Mark? It would be nice to hear an MD6 having a go in the CQ contest over Easter weekend!

  1. The radio stuff was never going to be a main hobby as I don’t get a lot of time in the shack. Always seem to be busy with family stuff, music stuff and studying / exams to do for work (the joys of working in IT!) Slowly getting the shack how I want it. Currently need to make up a load of patch cables which I’ll hopefully make a start on this weekend. Do you have details of the contest? You never know I might pop up to surprise you!

    1. Have a look at the CQ Magazine website for details http://www.cq-amateur-radio.com/ there is tons of good reading there πŸ™‚
The contest is basically run from 0000UTC Saturday through to 2359UTC Sunday. The simple exchange is just RS Report and Zone – i.e. 59 14 so it is very easy just to keep a log using one of the free contest logging programs such as N1MM or the likes.
Everything takes time – don’t rush (I make that mistake all the time) and when everything is just right for you go for it πŸ™‚
Feel free to pop up – I may be lacking in conversation if the band is good though πŸ˜‰

  2. Cheers for the link Dave. I had some shack time on Sunday afternoon but spent most of it swearing at BNC plugs trying to make patch cables… Think I managed 3 cables in about 3 hrs and I actually need 5! Gave up with sore fingers and will return to it when I next have time. (BTW, I meant pop up on air not to the shack, I don’t know where you live!)

    1. Ahh BNC – bloody naff connectors! Hate them almost as much as N types. Lol give me a ring sometime and you can come and play πŸ™‚ I may even do some patch leads for you… Crimped ones though!

  3. Heard you on 20m today Dave, just after I’d bagged a contact. Had a go to get some practice in, only got 10 contacts but pretty much all over Europe. Not bad for 10W and a badly put up indoor half size G5RV!

    1. I heard you lol well done mate glad you had a go. I run qrp in the CQ contests max 5w. 270 contacts including USA Canada Canaries Israel great weekend!
